It's snowing again!   It has been months since we have had fresh greens from the garden, but we are still eating fresh greens, only these greens come from our kitchen counter.  Fresh and delicious, they don't even have dirt on them and we don't even have to walk outside to get them.

A little over a year ago we bought a seed sprouting tray so we could have some home grown greens in the middle of winter.
Our favorite seeds to sprout are alfalfa because they are so sweet and crunchy. Everyone in the family likes them.  This picture shows broccoli sprouts which are a bit spicy, similar to fresh radishes.

It takes 2-3 minutes every day for 3 days to grow the sprouts to the to the size you see in the picture.   If you want your greens pesticide-free and ultra fresh and local instead of shipped over 1,000 miles after being harvested 2 weeks ago, give sprouts on your counter a try!
